Gibbs was only 15.2. when due for a trim! he took a 5 1/2" bit and they were the devil to get hold of. Fergie strangely also takes a 5 1/2" or a 5 3/4" depending on style, though she is a good bit bigger! Had a 14.2hh cob in the UK who was a 6"

So maybe a 5 1/2" would be a good bet...

If I were to only get 1 of the snaffles, would you go with the turtle top or the WH ultra?

I would ask you guy what the most common bit size they sell is and then go with that size.

I have all “horses” nothing overly giant. Everything in the 16hh range. Fif & Fez (RIP) both went in 5-5.25” bits. Gala (16.2 or 16.3) takes 5.75”. She just as a big traditional “hunter head”. I could probably get away with 5.5” but she’s the only one that would get away with something that big.

Good thinking. I did just do a quick search of my shop (novel idea:ROFLMAO:) 5" is by far my most popular seller for my leather bits, followed by 5.25" (by roughly 3/4 as many) then 5.5".

In my "normal" world, anything besides 5" is kind of weird, lol.

Lol, I know for a fact that Remi can, I'm still trying to wrap my head around the idea of getting a smaller size... Compare them to PintoArab's pony that takes a 6":rofl:

Rn'B - Fez passed away??? I am so sorry to hear that, he was one of my favorite horses on the forum. Such a gorgeous boy :bawling:

CricleC hey now! Don't you make fun of my fat headed boy! He's 14.1 but to be honest he's big everywhere. He would wear a size 3 shoe if he wasnt barefoot. I love that chunky boy!

@PintoArab, Yes, there were complications post surgery and nothing could be done. Let’s just say I had a ridiculously tough start to the year. I made a thread about it back in January or February that explains everything.

Thank you for your kind words about him. He was clearly my favourite on the forum as well. I miss him every day. While I adore the mares, neither will fill the shoes of The Master.
