Just wanted to share my story of how a mare I bred ended up in the killpen, through this story you will see how I came to know of a great group of people in Washington known as AH. AH (Auction horses) does an awesome job of getting horses that end up in the Enumclaw kill pen in Washington state every month rescued. They take pictures of horses that end up in the kill pen at the Enumclaw auction every month and through networking do a great job of getting these horses rescued.

AH forum where horses are posted every month for rescue..

Also wanted to share a picture of my daughter Esther and I riding, the little grey mare "Gracey" she is riding was rescued by one of the AH members 2 hours before she shipped to slaughter, she is a delightful little horse that anyone can ride.

So glad this girl was saved and you and your Daughter can enjoy her! You are not alone finding horses you bred or owned ending up in the kill pen. Keep us posted on this girl!

Thank you FancyASB, yes it was and eye opening experience, my mare is safe now but I have still been fallowing up on her....Boggles my mind that Gracey was in the kill pen, my friend that owns her said they can put her husband friends on her that have never ridden and Gracey is great with them, she is very sound doesn't even need shoes, but I guess the economy is just so depressed right now, otherwise I just don't get how a nice little horse like this almost shipped to slaughter.
