What kind of feeds can you get for her? Can you get Triple Crown Senior?
That's what I changed Foxy's too, Triple Crown Senior, cornless. Also one of those highly recommended for PSSM horses so the mix of ingredients must be pretty good.
I know that Lindy foundered before--so the low NSC of TC Senior would be good.
@SkyeTiger is she acting any different than usual?
Which the corn could have helped trigger that. Safe Choice, messed up his feet if you look close to compare. That back left hoof flared out and he actually got a horizontal crack about an inch and a half long.
I’m thinking I’m going to try the tsc senior... I know the barn already gets it for other horses. She isn’t acting any different. But, yes... she has always been a buff stocky horse and I am at a loss!
Well, Ace decided to act like a Hoover a few days ago and had a pretty bad case of choke. After a few days of mush for food he has been upgraded to a Prevent Bucket. He hates it but I love it! His momma also got one so I can finally cut back her grain intake to where it should be and it’ll still take her a while to give the Colt and my mother’s Arabian time to eat their food!
Ace has become a blanket destroyer so he’s been cooped up for this cold front so I don’t have to buy anymore blankets. I had to replace 3 and fix another in a matter of 2 weeks. It’s warm enough today to pull blankets so I was able to get some awesome pics!
I wish the round pen wasn’t in the way!
Ace has a pretty serious tie up episode Wednesday night. We did what we do so many times; hauled to a friend’s place to jump (I won’t jump without eyes on me), gave him a bath, and then body clipped him to help with him getting too hot on our 80* days. 3/4 of the way through body clipping his minor muscle tremors started, I pushed it off as him being ancy, about 10 minutes later he urinated VERY dark urine and then his whole body exploded in a full blown tie up. We gave him some banamine and threw a wool cooler on him even though it was still warm out as that’s what I was instructed to do. His whole episode lasted about an hour. The lab testing him for PSSM 2 advised pulling blood next time right away and testing his CK and AST levels. They are leaning towards RER with him based on his symptoms. That is something they are heavily researching right now so he will be entered into that study as well.
I'm so sorry. Have you joined the PSSM Forum on Facebook? Dark urine is another symptom of PSSM along with the tie up.

It doesn't mention the dark urine, but people have mentioning that on the forum lately as a symptom. Lots of info how to feed the PSSM horse depending on what variant it has.
I assume you are using Equiseq for the PSSM2 tests?
