Not sure if this has been posted, but I've been asked to help out.

Laurel Palmer 52 thoroughbred horses need homes. Will go to Sugarcreek this Saturday for slaughter. Gentleman died and his son wants nothing to do with them. Most broodmares are broke and some are in foal weanling, yearlings, 2 yrs and 3 yrs old most are gelded. FREE and papered. Friend of the deceased is trying to find homes 440-463-4288 or 440-463-4288 Barnesville, OH.

    :(

I got that e-mailed to me also. I didn't know how true it is. But the son I hope realizes if any of those horses are tattooed and from an east coast track, like Thistledown, they will run the tattoos at the auction and find out, pull the horses, and find out who was last on their reg papers and fine them. Horses from Thistledown I KNOW are not supposed to go to meat auctions, thats why they have such a rough time finding a good home for them. Something to do with a deal that Thistledown(and a few other tracks) made with PETA.
