      You probably can xray it to see damage, but you can also flex it and that will tell you too.

      I would be concerned about the panels, and would ask for photos of them if you can get them? Thats where a lot of issues can be hidden

      What angle would I need? Straight on from below? If they aren't symmetrical is the integrity of the saddle ruined?

      from behind from the front and from the bottom.

      If they aren't symmetrical the tree can be twisted but more importantly they wont work for your horse, and will cause pain and potentially changes to their topline.
