My Horse Forum
Haltergirl and I collaborated to make this thread, so there are two styles represented.
Ok this is my version:
Ok here we go...
First start off with the velcro rolled to the inside of the roll. Then make a triangle like this:
Then you wrap around once
Then you flip the triangle down and anchor it with another roll
Then continue wrapping down overlapping about every 2/3s or so, you need to have plenty to get back to the top though. So longer legs=less overlapping, short legs=more overlapping
Then hook the underside of the fetlock, not a lot just some. This is a terrible pic, but its hard when you can't get far enough to take a decent pic, if only I had 8ft long...
I live in Florida and there is sand EVERYWHERE. My colt has already had a problem with it but hopefully he's on the mend. I lost a mustang last year most likely to complications from flatulence colic (he twisted his intestine) but I am convinced that Sand Clear played a part. I've read that it can cause gas and I'd given it to him the night he died. He was fine during breakfast.....coliced that night and died. (Also partially because I couldn't get the vet to come out until he was actually being violent trying to roll and thrash....it was horrible)
ANYWAY...the vet said he believed the colic was due to gas possibly caused by the sand clear. Now I need to do something to prevent this from happening to my colt but I'm afraid to use any of the Sand Clear type stuff. Is metamucil really as effective? How much and how often?
ok, so i hear about mules. they are a cross between a horse/pony and a donkey right? Ive never seen one. would imagine they would be kinda ugly looking (no offence to anyone who has one) brings me to my question... does anyone have one, if so what are they like temerament wise and to ride. Does anyone have a picture - maybe they arent that ugly after all. i just picture a short, hairy, tubby thing with big ears.
